The following Australian Design Rules ( ADR) maybe found
on your vehicles compliance plate located on the passenger side
firewall.
What do these numbers mean? The Australian Design Rules set
out design standards for vehicle safety and emissions.
Here are some of the rules you might find on the compliance
plate.

Pollution control ADR's
ADR 26 - Defines
limits of carbon monoxide emissions from passenger car exhausts under
idle conditions.
ADR 27 - Additional to the requirments of ADR26,
passenger car derivative engine emissions of carbon monoxide and
hydrocarbons.
ADR 27A - Defines limits of oxides of nitrogen.
Both ADR 27 and 27A limits are in all phases of operation.
