 GT and GS fuel cap flip out either locking dealer fitted or non lock factory types with chrome  surround. Non vented cap with machine brushed finish or later vented cap with polished  chrome finish.

  • Rear window screen available with rear demist.
  • Rear window frame for XB Falcon is original stainless steel.
  • For the GT the rear window frame painted same colour as tutone on body, ie black, silver but not always..
  • Panel van available with either single or twin side windows.
  • Vinyl roof fitted with stainless steel ¼ panel retainer cover.

  • All trunk lids, rear doors and tail gate came with the die cast F.O.R.D. badges across the centre including the GT.
  • XB Falcon came with ‘500’ script badge on drivers side of boot.
  • XB Fairmont with ‘Fairmont’ script badge as above.
  • XB GT sedan with ‘GT 351’ decal on driver’s side.
  • XB GT coupe had centre ‘GT 351’ decal below lock. Same for John Goss only ‘302’.
  • Aluminum ‘BSS’ badge adhered to passenger side of trunk lid. Dealer option: Bib Stillwell Customised Special.

Stainless steel trunk moulding fitted along bottom edge of trunk and around top of tail lights.

These trims attached to small steel lugs.  GT did not have this trim only painted out.

Trim also available with coupe.

GT trunk fibreglass rear spoiler.  Dealers offered a Motorcraft aluminum trunk lid spoiler.

John Goss rear deck spoiler.

aircon.jpgVertical amber and red side marker lights utility, station wagon, panel van and early model coupes. Late model coupes 75/76 had either vertical or horizontal lights.

Rear exhaust panels either single on driver’s side, dual panel with circular cut outs or the GT with the rectangle type cut outs.

Station wagon with electric rear window this could be operated either with switch on the dash or by using the key at the handle.

Interior features

  • Steel glove box door for Falcon or the padded for the Fairmont and GT.
  • Glove box light available with the Fairmont and GT.
  • Retractable front seat belts, with either the early model steel seat belt buckle or the later, with the plastic buckle.
  • Rubber floor mat or optional fitted carpet. Option 23
  • Factory Selectaire or dealer fitted Selectair, under dash unit.
Sports console for the GS and GT and Fairmont.

 Falcon with bench seat and fold down centre arm rest.

Reclining high back bucket seats, for the Fairmont, GS and GT models. Coupes had different seats to allow rear access.

Vinyl seat trim available with cloth inserts. Code on compliance plate indicated ie: B2  Black vinyl with cloth insert. The '2' indicating the cloth insert. 

Sports dash for the 6 cyl GS 6000 RPM tacho and 120 Mph and V8 GS and GT with 7000 tacho and 140 Mph speedo, oil and temp gauges, fuel and voltage. Check speedo Miles for pre 7/74 and Kph for post.  Early model XBs had both the Mph and Kph.

Electric analog clock, standard with GT, Optional for GS and Fairmont..

Other options located on dash fascia.  Rear demister switch, power antenna switch, rear window switch (station wagon).  Stereo fader control knob, driving light switch, 6 cyl choke control.

Sound Systems

  • Radio non standard or options available were;
  •   70 Standard Superfringe manual 7 transistor radio.    
  • 71 Standard Superfringe push button 11 transistor radio.
  •  72 Solid State 8 track player or radio/cassette radio, which
  • included the fader control and 4 speakers.

Standard steering wheel or the three spoke Rimblow wheel for the GS and GT early model XBs had the rimblow rubber insert however the wires were not connected..

Dealer fitted remote boot release situated next to driver’s seat near forward of ‘B’ pillar.

Factory fitted power windows option 46.

*** Options fitted that required extra power ie power windows, a power relay was factory fitted mounted on the firewall alongside the wiper motor.

Vinyl door trims – GT and Fairmont fitted with matching carpet on lower part of door trim approx 6 inches high. Both trims also had extended arm rest.  Early model door trims were also fitted with a plastic chrome trim above section of carpet.

Rear bench seat standard or with fold down centre arm rest for the Fairmont and GT as standard option. 

Rear courtesy lights fitted at ‘C’ pillar.  The early model XBs were fitted with the XA  large type lens.
