![]() ![]() Step 1. Step 2. First find a suitable small screw driver to remove the end cap avoiding damage to the cap if possible. Place the screw driver between the gap and push down and flick the end cap off. SAFETY CAUTION: Recommend that you wear a leather glove on your right hand when doing this as the end cap comes off your right hand will slip down and you willl slice the inside of your hand on the exposed steel part. ![]() ![]() Step 3. Step 4. Now depending on the condition of the arm will determine how difficult this stage will be. Firstly remove the small spring plate and spring, remember to keep these in a safe place to avoid losing them. The steel end piece now needs to come off. ![]() ![]() Step 5. Step 6. These steel pieces were machine pressed on with a small recess. (See step 4) This recess needs to be drilled out with a drilll of the appropriate size. Carefully drill out the recess. Now some steal pieces will just come off without too much force but others will need some work. ![]() ![]() Step 7. Step 8. Now just slide on the new knob and tap the steel piece back on, its essential to make sure the drill holes line back up so the knob will fit back in its original position making sure the light icon is on top. ![]() ![]() Step 9. Step 10. Replace the spring and spring plate and refit the end cap using a touch of super glue. If the end cap is in reasonable condition all you need to do is lightly sand it back and resrpay it with some black vinyl spray. Now you have the refurbished arm ready to go back on your XB. ![]() |
